Who or what is the target customer for Jill's Consultant List?
 
How do I know I can find a consultant to help me?
 
I joined because I saw an IT guy that I thought was right for me. But, he was too complicated to understand. What should I do now?
 
I used an outside service to help me with my business plan 6 months ago but I never got around to doing the plan. I went back and that woman doesn't work there anymore and now I feel like I have to start over.
 
I have been going to workshops and classes to start my business and I feel like they move too slowly for me. I just want to jump in and get started.
 
What type of consultants does the list have and how are you going to get more consultants?
 
I can get information for free from different sources, why should I join?
 
Why don't you offer recurring credit card charges so I don't have to worry about my subscriptions lapsing?
 
I don't see my specialty listed. How do you decide when to add a specialty?
 
I am doing this only part time and just starting out. What if I get too much business or business I can't perform?

Q: Who or what is the target customer for Jill's Consultant List?
A: The target market customer is everyone. From a small business, someone with a dream or an idea, someone struggling and not clear why to a mid-size company looking to grow. These people can do the research themselves but choose to employ us for energy, sounding board, new ideas and support.
   
Q: How do I know I can find a consultant to help me ?
A: Check the profiles first before you join. If you do not find a consultant with an area of expertise to help you, contact us with what you are looking for and we will go out to our networks and try to find someone with the background you need. Check back often since our service is growing rapidly and we are adding new consultants each week.
   
Q: I joined because I saw an IT guy that I thought was right for me. But, he was too complicated to understand. What should I do now ?
A: Go back on the list and find someone who has a business similar to yours. They will be able to help you interpret what the IT guys are telling you in ways that will be more relevant to your business.  If you still dont find what you need, email us and we will help you.

A: When you use our service you get the personal connection with a person, not an organization. Once you develop your relationship with your consultant here, you will seem more like friends and will be able to go back monthly, annually or whatever works for you. This way, your consultant already knows your situation and you move forward quickly.
   
Q: I have been going to workshops and classes to start my business and I feel like they move too slowly for me. I just want to jump in and get started.
A: One of the great things about our consultants is that they want to just cut to the business too. After a conversation, you will both have "assignments" and then you get back on the phone to review and move forward. You can usually move as quickly as you want to with your consultant.
   
Q: What type of consultants does the list have and how are you going to get more consultants?
A: As for consultants, we have experts in wine, health, publishing, importing, events, web development, finance, building, non-profit management, fundraising, and more interested.  Initially since there is no cost to the consultants, our goal is to populate our network and database that is varied by experience, background, and education so that everyone can find someone to help.
   
Q: I can get information for free from different sources, why should I join?
A: Some people will say that all the help and information is available for free from various websites and small business services such as SCORE. I agree. But, a small business owners time is best spent on the business rather than surfing the net and SCORE coaches are available on a limited schedule. Our consultants are available by phone and email and hopefully they will design their agreements so that a customer can have a 15 minute help session here and there and get billed in increments that are affordable. Also, there are hundreds of diet sites, diet books and other info available to dieters. Still personal coaches such as LA Weight Loss and Weight Watchers are successful because sometimes we just need someone to hold our hand.
   
Q: Why don't you offer recurring credit card charges so I don't have to worry about my subscriptions lapsing ?
A: Two main reasons are that I don't want to store credit card information and I don't want to worry customer service issues if your subscription renewed without that being your intention. Prior to your subscription expiring, you will receive several notices to renew. Even if your subscription does lapse, your profile will remain on file, although not viewable, so that rejoining at some point will be quick and simple.
   
Q: I don't see my specialty listed. How do you decide when to add a specialty ?
A: We add specialties as people in that area join. If you email me your specialty, we will add it to the list.
   
Q: I am doing this only part time and just starting out. What if I get too much business or business I can't perform ?
A: Our system allows for you put on your profile that you are not accepting new customers or that you are unavailable for a period of time. If you get too much business, feel free to note this on your profile. If you would like to hide your profile at any time, you can do that too. Also, I encourage you to initiate contact with others on the list if you have complementary businesses so that you can refer to each other as needed.
   
Q: Do you help me with the billing and paperwork too ? What if I have a problem with a customer ?
A: This site should be viewed like a standard, searchable directory where you can find the person you need and contact them directly. We do not get in between you during this process. If you have a problem with a consultant or a customer, I want to hear about that right away. I will work with each of you to determine if you are still right for the directory but I will not mediate your concerns. I will not list customers or consultants who have known and substantiated complaints against them.
